Who Am I?

My name is Samad Dukes. I am Rutgers graduate who took the teachings of Digital Communication and implemented it into my personal/professional life. While in college I was able to launch a successful clothing line based around luxury material and story telling of the inner city. Through my brand I was able to get first hand experience in running a business, project management, social media marketing and brand development. My ideal goal is to continue my path of knowledge by working in a setting that allows me to learn and become a team player using my self starter mindset. Throughout this page you able to see the various brands and media platforms where I helped bring ideas to light.

For the last five years of my professional career, I have worked as a freelancer helping brands increase their social media presence, engagement, and improve their overall marketing strategy. While simultaneously working my own brand where I serve as the creative director, I was fortunate enough to get my professional start at NBC. I worked with broadcaster Zerlina Maxwell, on her show that covers breaking news and current events. My roles progressed from Graphic Producer to Associate Producer where I cut and organized video to establish context within the the show. The type of coverage done on this show called for me to be extremely flexible and creative as rapid changes occurred on a daily basis. I also worked closely with the Executive Producer to pitch and present new story lines, which often become integrated into the final segment. I assist in training fellow staff and have taken an active role in writing show descriptions and organizing mass metadata to understand a segment’s impact.
